SPRING SHAKTI RETREAT || April 4-6th, 2014
RENEW, NOURISH, DETOX & REJUVENATE
A transformational weekend for practice, nature and purification at the four-star Thermae Platystomo Resort & Spa. Enjoy amazing raw meals, healing thermal waters and the beautiful countryside as you quiet down, rest and renew.
The sacred element of water has long been associated with the divine feminine and the ever-present emotion of love. Like water, we are always moving, changing form, and renewing from one moment to the next. Time spent connecting with water reminds us of the ways in which our inner landscape mirrors the outer landscape, and encourages us to be more gentle and forgiving with ourselves. When we surrender to the flow and changing nature of our lives, our transitions can be more graceful and our hearts opened toward the love of the journey.
Mornings will begin with mouna (silence), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation, followed by asana practice (postures). In our yoga sessions, we will explore Kriya Yoga, as outlined by master Patanjali: Tapas || Purification, Swadhyaya || Self-study, Ishwara Pranidhana || Surrender. On Saturday, we will do a light fast from words and food, with plenty of time for gentle walks in the surrounding nature, thermal spa in the luxurious indoor hot springs pool, journaling, rest and contemplation. There will be a light meal in the evening, following healing practices to nourish body and spirit.
The weekend will include practice in one of Greece’s most beautiful indoor spaces for yoga, a discussion on yoga philosophy & history, sitting in silence, a hike amongst the clear streams and the rolling hills of the lush countryside, sharing circles and a vibrant raw gourmet buffet with plenty of time for quiet introspection as well as playful exploration.
You will stay in the Xenia’s beautiful semiprivate rooms with en-suite bathrooms; if you do not have a roommate, you will be paired with someone on the retreat. Use of room as single occupancy: please add 50e to your costs. Rates include: Two nights in the comfortable Xenia guest house, use of the hotel’s thermal springs pool (slippers & bathrobes provided), three amazing raw buffet feasts, nature walks, dharma talk, three yoga & meditation sessions. Early bird pricing (50e deposit before March 20th): Double occupancy, 150e. Thereafter: 170e.
Early check-in begins @ 4pm on Friday. You are very welcome to take the day off & enjoy the area and thermal pool. Meals are vegan, raw, healthy, vibrant; let us know if you have allergies or specific dietary needs and we will do our best to honor them. Fresh fruit & hot tea will be available at all times.
